A Sampling of my Illustrator material.
This piece was originally conceived as a Smoothies cover to use on Facebook. I put it together for a restaurant company to use during the summer months during a smoothies promotion on the restaurant’s menu. The image was never actually used in circulation.
This “Back to School” Facebook cover was made almost entirely with Adobe Illustrator, with the exception of a photo which was altered first in Photoshop.
This “Summer Banner” Facebook cover’s elements were made almost entirely in Adobe Photoshop, with the final composition being assembled in Illustrator.
This piece was made using Illustrator to demonstrate both Topography and Typography. It utilizes Illustrator’s Perspective Grid, overlaid with a topographic map which then has typographic elements (the word “Topographic”) superimposed upon it.
This context of this piece was as part of an exercise in Illustrator to learn to use brushes. I wanted to be stylistically different from other work I had produced. My inspiration for the piece was Chinese and Japanese landscape watercolor illustrations. This contributed thematically to both the content and style of the finished piece.
This project was about the use of both perspective and typography. The geometric structure is based upon a found image which was then laid out using the Perspective Grid tool to produce an accurate 3-D perspective form. Text was added to the scaffolding provided by the 3-D form to make a familiar statement. The line “The Medium is the Message” is credited to Marshall McLuhan, a prominent mid-twentieth century Canadian philosopher and intellectual.
